I have been a Garbage fan for a long time and the thing I love most about them is that they are music nerds making music for no other reason than they love to make music thus making brilliant music which appeals to their fellow music nerds.If you get what I mean...But seriously Garbage could easily have fallen into the trap of focusing on their female lead singer as eye candy and letting image triumph over quality music. They have managed to avoid doing this and just focus on crafting brilliant pop/rock tunes instead. In an age when image and marketing nearly always take priority over substance Garbage should be cherished.In terms of Garbage's discography this album is not as dark and rock as their debut, it is less electro than version 2.0 and has many of the pop hooks and polish of their last two albums. For me the stand out tracks were "silence is golden" "parade" "androgyny" but the whole album is quality and can be easily enjoyed the whole way through.If you are sick of fake image focused bands and artists who put more effort into their hair than their music then get into Garbage and hear what a band made up of hardcore music nerds doing it for love sounds like.
