My town no longer allows groceries to use plastic bags... I had been using them as garbage bags for decades. So, now I have to buy bags just to throw them away! I use a 10 quart bucket for a trash can in the kitchen and I line it with the bags. These are 6 gallons but they are just right: I can overfill the bucket and I can still close them with a knot. I like the fact that they do not have the tie closures which don't ever seal the bag well. A knot does a better job and probably the bags are not as expensive. The bags separate easily and seem strong enough for garbage.
