I have never written a review of a product, but as a new Mom I have read thousands to try to find the best baby products for my new little one. I saw a video review from Magic Beans about this diaper pail and could not wait to try it! My husband is 6’1 and I found when looking at other pails they were very low and with his bad back and changing diapers frequently I thought this would be the perfect solution. We have only been using it a few weeks but I will list the pros and cons that we have so far.Pros: No bending required. Just throw the diaper in and push the pedal and the odor is contained I love the way it looks! It matches the nursery perfectly. It definitely contains the odor. The bag is relatively easy to change out but you do need to use the bags specifically for the diaper pail.Cons You have to use special bags which are quite costly as opposed to some other brands such as Ubbi that you can use regular trash bags As the diaper pail becomes full you can not push new diapers down. This is a tad frustrating at 3am when the last thing you want to do is change the bag The bag does not fill up all the way. When you pull the bag out there is room enough for at least 5-10 more diapers which is a tad frustrating since the bags are not cheap.Overall I am giving this 3 stars mostly because it does not fill the bag enough and therefore requires you to take the bag out and leave it out to add additional diapers before putting it in the outside trash cans. I do however think this is a great product for taller parents since many of the other diaper pails are very low! I hope this is helpful to all the new parents out there looking for the perfect baby products for their little ones.I would have given this unit 5 stars if not for the cheap plastic parts that broke and would have basically rendered the unit unusable had we not found a workaround. The manufacturer is aware of this and yet still hasn't done anything to resolve it so minus an extra 2 stars. Our workaround is below. The selling point of this system for us was its ability to contain the smell. To do this, Lionheart's proprietary bag attaches to an inner spinning frame within the outer garbage shell and twists the bag open and closed as the foot pedal is operated. To make this work, 2 loops on the bag located 180 degrees apart at the top of the bag attach to 2 plastic clips on the inner spinning frame. When the pedal is pressed, the bag unwinds so waste can be slid inside and it then winds up again, sealing it when the pedal is released. We've only had the unit for 1 week at this point and on just the 2nd bag change, the bag rubbed against one of the plastic clips on the inside frame and snapped off. This basically makes the sealing mechanism useless as now the bag has nothing to clip to to hold it in place so it can spin closed. This is basic design flaw could have been easily resolved by the manufacturer already by using aluminum clips to hold the bag instead of two colored plastic clips that will inevitably break.Rather than send it back only to receive another unit with the same plastic clips that will break again, I simply unfolded a paperclip and slid it into one of the slots in the top of the frame next to the broken plastic clip and the bag's loop slides into it just like it had into the plastic clip. This workaround is metal so it won't break again and when the other side breaks -- because it will -- I'll just unfold another paperclip and do it again on the other side.Update 2/3/18Just as we suspected it would, the other plastic clip broke off about a week ago when the garbage was pulled out again. We we're especially careful after the first one snapped off and made it through a grand total of 8 bag changes before the other broke off too. Not a great average. In the manufacturer's defense we are using it to contain adult diapers which tend to fill the bag faster and don't give / shift the same way I imagine small children's diapers would when slid past the clips and through the opening. The problem is obvious and the fix should be a simple one but they haven't done anything to correct it yet so be aware of how to fix it if you still think it's worth the price. We’ve been liking this diaper pail a lot. We haven’t noticed any odor, but we also bag and take out poop diapers right away. The only negative is finding the bags for it online - wish it was more readily available. Other than that, I would highly recommend. We bought this can to help eliminate odors from my incontinent relative's bathroom. It is a dream! It works really well at keeping the odors inside the disposable bag. We had searched and purchased many cans that were supposed to contain the odor, and most did...somewhat. However, every time you opened the lid the smell would escape. But, with this lion heart can, the odors are ABSOLUTELY contained 100%. The only drawback is that it is not super quick to change a liner...but that's a small price to pay for the benefit of an ODOR FREE bathroom!! GREAT PRODUCT!It definitely keeps the odor sealed better than any other diaper trash can we’ve used. The only problem I have with this product is that it only comes with one charcoal pack and no option to buy another pack. The charcoal helps eliminate the odor, so after time the odor does come back as the charcoal loses it odor absorbing capability.I can not tell you how much I love this because my 1yr old is starting to eat more foods n the bowel movements are a little more stinky with this I can't smell a thing!!!! I also did have the other diaper pail the genie and It just did not work for me. The smell would just seep through and I would constantly have to clean it to help the odor. The twist'r cost more but is worth the money I have to say my money was well spent.I love the way it compacts all the diapers into the bin. It is a bit of a hassle putting in the trash liner, but once you get use to it, it's not that bad.So far so good. We’ve had the twist’r for a couple of weeks and love it. Seems like a quality product that will last through the abuse of many diapers to come.
