First, the trash can is very small and compact. The seller made that clear in the description so the 1-star reviews about size are totally unfair. It fits fine in my little Nissan Kicks.Second, I would think most people would empty the container after a day or two. How much trash can you keep in a 6x5.5x4 container? Again, unfair to the seller.Third, the price alone tells you it is not made of ABS plastic. In other words, handle with care LOL. It is not going to hold empty cans and bottles, but it definitely will hold annoying receipts from drive thru, candy wrappers, etc.Fourth, the lid is held together by a spring that is 100% normal quality for an item in this price range. If you're jamming items in it, yes it will probably have a problem. If this were a $20 or more item, then complaints would definitely be valid. For the price point it is definitely a good purchase.Although my kids are grown, if I had little ones in the car I'd make sure they understood not to touch it because it isn't ABS etc. It is a nice little inexpensive trash can that is not on the market to complete with heavy duty plastic models. Go elsewhere for that. If you want something to hold the little things, this is it. It works fine for my use and I plan to get one for the hubby's car as well. I'm pleased with it.
