I use these in the food pail provided by my city for recycling food scraps, and they fit perfectly— for me. I like mine to fold over the outside of the pail (loosely) a bit to keep the outside of the pail clean and also to keep the bag from falling inside the pail (see above pics).The bags are lightweight but strong enough to hold a lot of food scraps, and haven't had one leak in use or when tying off and taking out to the food bin (to be picked up with the other bins on garbage day).We use only one bag per week for our size family so one roll lasts a really long time (occasionally we’ll need two bags)..... To remove a bag from the roll, be sure to find and hold it with fingers on both sides of the actual perforation before tearing off.
