First off, if you are looking at this product, you are most likely installing a Reverse Osmosis water filtration system and need to connect the system to the drain line. But you DON'T want to drill a hole into your PVC waste pipe for sanitary reasons or worry about leaks down the line.Then this is the product for you. Just make sure you read your RO system's install manual first to ensure that you need a 3/8" outlet and not the usual 1/4". This kit came with everything you need to connect the RO waste line to your dishwasher waste line. This takes away the need to drill a hole in your P trap. Also b/c your dishwasher drain is usually higher above the P train, it's more sanitary so you don't get gas and water pushing back up to your drinking water system.
