Our family planned a 2300 mile road trip through California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and back home. We took the family suburban with our two children aged 7 and 10. We removed the 3rd row seats. We planned on eating sandwiches and snacks in the car and not eating out in order to save money. We packed the cooler in the back with storage totes full of non perishable food. The kids sat in the 2nd row, and since we only have the 2 children, the center seat remained vacant. In the center seat I put an aftermarket center console I purchased online for them to store their entertainment stuff in. I wedged the trash can in the floorboards in front of the middle seat (directly behind the front center console and in front of the 2nd row center console). This trash can was perfect. It was large and we were able to put in wastebasket size trash bags which we took out every single night. It held just enough for one day's worth of trash. It kept the truck from getting disgusting and full of trash. My kids have a tendency to throw stuff everywhere. It held juice boxes, water bottles, paper plates, candy wrappers, empty wrappers from popcorn, chips, crackers, wet baby wipes, napkins, etc. Honestly, this wastebasket was an awesome purchase. I can't really be more pleased. It collapses flat until the next adventure, and it's currently stored in the back of the suburban. The little trash can I put up in the front seat with me and my husband but we didn't use it. We just used the big one in the middle row since it was easy to reach behind our center console. Perhaps I will put the small trash can in my husbands car back seat to see if they will use it instead of the floorboards as a trash can.
