Rubber splash guard fits snuggly into sink/garburator opening perfectly and seals perfectly against the vertical sides of the circular hole.Plastic cover fits perfectly into the opening of the splash guard rubber and seals perfectly.Filled the sink after installing splash guard rubber and plastic cover and the water was retained without any leaks.Note:Pouring hot liquids and /or chemicals on the rubber splash guard will slowly degrade the rubber and it will eventually start to leak. At that point in time, you will have to buy a new splash guard rubber and plastic cover again so its good that this kit comes with two of the same so that you have a spare one.
