I use this product for trash around my yard and for dog waste. The wheels are sturdy and are the best part of the product. The bin itself, is tall enough so I don't have to constantly bend down. I do like the product but there are two things I'd change: Be able to have the lid lock open and the foot pedal is long but not wide and can be a hinderance. Otherwise, this trash bin suits my needs.I purchased this to put large bags of dog food in. I was going to return it thinking it may not be large enough at the bottom. It works just fine, the container is also thicker than expected. I am very pleased with my purchaseI wanted a trash can for my office/studio that was a little bigger than standard so this 17 gallon can looked like it would work. I bought 20 gallon kitchen bags to fit in this can. Long story short, the can is very wide and so I would have to use a very large bag in this can. The 20 gallon bags which should be bigger than the can, are too narrow to use with this can. I did not measure the can, but it looks like it is bigger than 17 gallons.Also, it is a small thing, but this can came needing assembly. Not just snapping the lid on the can, but putting the foot peddle mechanism together and installing it in the can. I have never had to assemble a trash can of any sort ever. This can is too big for my purposes and so it will be used in the basement as a backup can if our regular can gets broken. I will have to find another can for my office.This can looks neat, the lid is huge as is the opening, but finding bags that fit it will probably be a challenge and you will probably end up going with a 30+ gallon bag so that you can actually fit the bag over the top of the can.This is a really nice sturdy can, great size to fit smaller spaces. However, the square shape makes it only fit 30+ gallon trash bags. For me, that kind of defeats the purpose of having a smaller can so I will return it. If you don’t mind having the trash bag pretty much hang over the entire side of the can, then it’s a good product.I use this trash can in my kitchen, but I can easily see it used for patio use. Its very large, and after getting the right size trash bags, I've had no issues with the bags failing to stay put. Rarely the top will become disconnected from the mechanism, but its an easy fix and normally only happens when the pedal is stomped on with excessive force or is stuck on something.This is the best trash bin I have had in years. Yes, it costs a pretty penny. However, if you add together all your other investments for trash bins (kitchen-utility), this is a much sturdier item. It also seals in odors because the lid seals shut tightly. Another feature worth mentioning, you will assemble without any tools. Tips: Review instructions first. Analyze pieces for assembly. Be gentle, yet firm to snap pieces into place.Great quality and easy to put together. I use it for a dog poop bin and it's a great solution. I can use the step provided to raise the lid hands-free. Very sturdy and leak proof through storms. Highly recommend!No more trash smell in the kitchenTo those who used zip ties to hold the foot pedal linkage together: YOU PUT IT ON BACKWARDS!Just turn the long piece of linkage around and it'll work perfectly.This can is perfect for Kirkland's blue 30 X 33inch trash bags or any other 90l ribbon tying bags. The side hooks do a great job of keeping the bag fastened to the can. Also, the can has a slow closing function that makes it even easier to use.A very simple, but rugged design. I can see it lasting decades and I'm very satisfied with this purchase.So after 15+ minutes of trying, I finally managed to get the lid assembled. The instruction manual is no help. I was lucky enough to buy two of these things. Assembled they look great. I hope they function as well.Note to Safco: Have them come assembled or don't come at all!Muy buena compraLinkage for the foot pedal does not stay attached. Needed to use a zip tie to fix it.
