The 33 gallon bag is great. It can rip if trash is overfilled in a can that's too small...it doesn't have the durablity of a Glad plastic bag. It definitely is compostable, used it to collect cold ashes over the winter...and it composted...lol...had to rebag the wet ashes. I do feel like I am doing less damage to earth by using them. I also buy the smaller bag to line my compost kitchen bin. Just be mindfull that water and time = compost...so wet stuff like meat should be put into a small plastic bag before being thrown in the trash
