The attention to detail in this toy is good. There are well placed stickers and articulated parts that move in a realistic manner. The cab is die-cast metal while most of the rest of the truck is plastic. The places where the parts are attached are the same old "pin through a hole" attachment that a lot of toys use, so the parts come off way too easily. However, they are easily reattached as long as they didn't break while be detached. So, this toy comes close to being a "model" more than a toy to be played with, but with a gentle touch, it has provided hours of entertainment for my child. (7 year-old with autism) On another note, this toy is an educational opportunity for a young child. With recycling so prevalent in our world now, it is possible to discuss what should or shouldn't, and what can and can't, be recycled. My young child likes to incorporate those decisions into his play with this toy. Overall, it's a buy, but needs a little more care during play than many toys.
