My older disposal finally turned its last turn. The feature that drew me to this model was the quietness and it did not disappoint. Installation was straightforward. Even though it fit the old mount in my sink drain, I replaced it with the new--that was easy, just needed to pick up some plumber's putty. Months later, I remain happy with the performance, and the QUIETNESS.The Badger 1 that came with the house and was a bit rough and rusty to begin with seized up. I've had a few prior experiences in apartments with Badgers doing the exact same thing so I decided to go with this Moen because it's grinder chamber looked to be all stainless while the ISE offerings at a similar price/HP point were not.I was happy to find it uses a compatible interface flange and identical drain connector positioning, so replacing the old one was just a matter of disconnecting it and popping it free. Took me about half an hour and is probably the easiest plumbing repair I've ever had to do because of it. This also lets you keep the old flange with matching wear in the sink if you want to, so you don't have a beat up sink with a suspiciously shiny and chrome disposer hole.Eats all the stuff I need it to just fine. I don't put a whole lot down the disposer because it goes into a septic system, but I like having one so I can grind up too-small-to-compost food particles like rice grains and bits of veg stuck to plates before sending them down so they don't clog the pipes.I'd say it's a little quieter than the Badger when running with just clear water flowing into it, but it still sounds like a garbage disposer when it's doing its thing. For something I use in 30 second bursts for less than a couple minutes a day it could sound like a jet engine and it wouldn't bother me.Only complaint about this order is that 2 days after I bought it it was on sale for 25% off.Noisier than the old Kenmore it replaced; but no big deal since only has to be on for a few seconds to get the job done. Very pleased with my purchase.Ok so its a garbage disposal its not silent..... but lets compare to 15 years ago.... this thing is quiet. Chews up that food the kiddos never eat just fine. Id buy it again.One week ago I installed it. The noise is very minimal. So far, so good. I will update if things change. At this point, I would recommend. Working well duringthe first month.Got this in our condo we rented out, and after our house unit burned out, I re-purchased. I am pleased with both units. Kinda pound to start with the clicking sound from the moving parts, but it's performed great.This is a pretty good disposal. I like how much quieter it is compared to the Kenmore it replaced. Installation was fairly easy. I found that when connecting the disposal to the mounting ring was a bit difficult for one person but can be done by just one. You just have to improvise. If this old lady can do it, then it's not that hard, but then again, I'm a DIYer. So, I tackle a lot of difficult projects. All in all, I am glad I chose this one.I needed to replace my old, leaking garburator, and was peeved to see that the local hardware stores had them for $300+. I checked on Amazon and was pleasantly surprised to see the Moen models starting at $125. I regularly use Moen taps and shower units, so I trusted the brand. The reviews of the $125 model indicated it was noisy, so I opted for this one instead. It was relatively easy to install in under an hour, including removal of the old unit, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much quieter the Moen one was compared to my old unit. I don't tend to abuse garburators, so I expect this one will last quite a while.A bit loud compared to my previous InSinkErator but the price was superb and included the cord. Very solid and works well.Was easy to install, but I did have one there before so plumbing was straight forwardA little noisy but not much different the the one I replacedNoise level was about the same as my old Waste King.
