I am overall pretty happy with this purchase mostly for the ease of its use. I have 2 small children and they love to use it. It helps motivate them to throw away garbage! I don’t think I notice any difference with the odor eliminator. My biggest complaint is how hard it is to get the garbage bag out once it is full! I wish there was something to step on so I could hold the cab down while pulling the bag out. It’s OK. It’s a little slow when it comes to detecting your hand and lifting the lid. I feel I am waiting too long for it to flip open. It’s also a little small. I had another one before this one but it was square and tall and it held a lot more than this one does. I didn’t realize this one was so narrow. It is very sensitive and if you have it in a high traffic area, it's going to be flying open all the time. It does need extra long bags or something in the bottom to support shorter bags. Yes there is a plastic ring to hold in place but I put a large plastic storage bowl (from the dollar tree) in the bottom. It works great. I am using rechargeable batteries and they lasted quite a long time considering the amount of use this gets. The lid will shut in about 5 seconds if your hand or object is not over the sensor. I don't find this to be a big problem, I just adjust my position. The charcoal filter totally takes care of the smell. I like the small footprint.Perfect!....just what the doctor ordered..?..the door opens lighning fast!..got the black matte....no more finger prints!Tall & very slender..which is a bonus..also has an odor pouch..we have had this for 3 days..absolutely love it..5 stars!!Bought two of these - one for recyclable items. The height makes disposal convenient. Fits standard 13 gallon bags. The motion sensors work well.Update 5.5 months in: the lid stopped opening this week. I figured it was just the batteries so I replaced them, but it’s still not working. I plan to call the number inside the lid after the holiday. I’m hoping they’ll replace the part since we’re less than 6 months in. It can be opened manually, but its such a bummer because we had been LOVING this trash can until this.1st review at 3 months: I bought this to use in our living room as a diaper pail and we love it. We had 3 other diaper pails before this and they all had issues. I love the touchless open and odor containment. My husband loves that it’s easy to empty and we don’t have to use a proprietary bag. I found that the “GLAD ForceFlexPlus XL X-Large Kitchen Drawstring Trash Bags - 20 Gallon Grey Trash Bag” is a great fit because it’s bigger/longer. Regular 13gal trash bags start to fall in since it’s taller than a standard trash can. Buying the bigger bags for it might be annoying if it were in my kitchen, but as a diaper pail I don’t mind. I wish we’d found it sooner!I do a lot of painting, and go through cleaning wipes and paper towels like mad. I also care for multiple cats, with a litter box kept in the bathroom. My 3-gallon automatic-opening trash can was filling up quickly with paper products and such - so I decided to look for the largest sized one I could fit in the bathroom. I decided to go for the iTouchless 8-gallon round trash can. I really liked that it was available in matte black.Well, the fits in nicely in my smallish monochrome bathroom - both looks and size-wise. It arrived without a ding or scratch, and the products box is thick and there's plenty of styro panels lining the top, bottom and corners.I've had it in use just about 17 hours, but am largely satisfied. I really do like the matte black finish and the minimal look of the can. Also, the deodorizer component is a nice feature I hadn't expected. The auto flap is relatively quiet, and smooth in operation. On my prior automatic bathroom trash pail, the sensor could be adjusted to best suit the location of the can. Unfortunately, I cannot do that with this iTouchless can, and found that when I'm walking past the can, the lid opens. I guess it'd be more ideal if the sensors only detected overhead motion, as opposed to picking up movement in front of the can. When I have some time, I'll see if there's a way I can neatly block the sensor from the front, so it only opens when I pass my hand directly over the detection "eyes".I like the set of buttons you can push to keep the trash can lid's flap open for up to five minutes ("Stay-Open" mode), and then push to close when finished tossing multiple pieces of garbage over such a period of time. That's another feature I hadn't considered previously, but already have found useful while giving my bathroom a brief but thorough cleaning earlier this morning. I also appreciate the large opening - no issues tossing a used bottle of surface cleaning through the top.The trash bag retainer ring seems to hold the bag well - and neatly, too! No bag top hanging over the bin!. I do miss not having a removable interior canister, as that made cleaning my former automatic trash can easier, and allowed me at times to remove the canister and toss the contents into a larger trash bag, without changing the small pail's bag at that point.Oh, I did spend the extra money on the optional power adapter for iTouchless, since I happen to have a wall outlet just a few feet from where I placed the unit. I can't, therefore, evaluate how long a set of batteries would keep the automatic trash can in operation. All in all, I'm pleased with this purchase, and would certainly recommend the iTouchless trash can.Great garbage can for those spaces that you need to have something nicer to look at besides a plastic flip top can. Works well and I have had 2 of them. The first one was sold with our house and I bought another in white for our new home. I love it that much.Really great product, I can’t believe how useful this garbage can has been. Very convenient and really helps keep things clean as you don’t need to touch anything with hands our feet . It looks nice too so having it out in the kitchen is no problem. Knocked one star as it is not cheap but the materials used to make it feel like they are on the cheaper end. See how it holds up but great so far. Won’t go back to a congenital garbage can after this !The can is great, clean and looks nice in the kitchen. Motion sensor stopped working after 24 hours. Very disappointing. I can still use the buttons to open and close but this defeats the purpose of "touchless".UPDATE:Motion is a bit spotty. Started working again so I added two stars. Leaving out one start due to motion not always working.I went online to register the item and obtain an advertised free sample. One of the requirements was to indicate the model number. There was no model number on the item or in the included sheet of instruction. The box in which the item came did not have any clearly marked model number. I called their Customer Service line during their business hours but only got an answering machine. Very disappointed. Would not recommend or purchase again consider how expensive the item is compared to similar ones. It's a good bin however it is not as sturdy. The plastic circle that secures the bag sometimes goes in if you push it the wrong way and is made out of the cheapest plastic. Also I found the size being rather misleading. My previous model was the same size but I manage to fill this one faster. The motion detection works well however seems very touchy as if you walk around it it will trigger and will open the lidWe boughted it in 2020 and its the second time the motor stop working. In the one yesr waranthy the company was very good to help us with that. So now its started again and the motor does a sound even with new battery. So its a nice and good looking garbage can when it works. I would say dont expect more than 2 years.
