I had tried everything to keep the critters out of my trash cans. I got tighter lids, new trash cans, bungee cords over the top--nothing worked! The raccoons were very persistent in wanting into those cans, and even tore the edges up on the lids to get the cans open. Finally I discovered these lid locks! My trash cans have round lids, and they worked great. They definitely hold the lids on tight, and my raccoon looting problems are over! One thing--they are very tight and strong, so kinda hard to latch back if you have strength or hand issues, and I'm pretty sure my trash service people probably dread unlocking these. They do have a kind of "rubber band" effect and fly open when you press the latch, so just stay clear and they are fine. All in all, they are exactly what I needed!
