The design is not great. The battery lid is too weak to stay in place when you pop the lid on, which knocks the batteries off into the garbage. I taped the batteries in but just seems kinda silly to me...could not get battery compartment open to put in batteries... several people tried, as well as myself...am using it without batteries...Not very quiet when opening and closing.This plastic trash can isn’t as large as described it’s more like 10gal for $61 ( 41+19.99 shipping read the small print) and returning is another story this isn’t an Amazon product so it’s not simple. The color is cute but more for an office not the kitchenWork well especially in small rooms.A+ Trader!!!!!I have to wave my hand back and forth, up and down, over and over. Most of the time it doesn't detect. We keep the lid off of it now. Our return request was never answered. Don't waste your money on this piece of plastic.
